    Take a look and observe people whilst on your way to work and what do you see? I do this on my daily commute on public transport and the main thing I notice is people so glued and fixated on looking at their mobile phones they do not look up for the whole entire journey, either that or they are having a conversation with a pal on the phone. When you walk to your place of work, lots of people are walking at a snails pace and looking down at phones not paying a blind bit of notice or even thinking about anyone held up behind them, it's almost like they have been zombified. 

    The technology we have now is amazing but on the down side it has made people rude and almost like they cannot get on a train or bus confidently without messing with a phone or having a conversation with a pal on the mobile, I honestly think they wouldn't be able to cope without a phone.  Technology is so great un-yet more and more people are suffering from depression, anxiety and stress. 

    Mindfulness is a term that we are hearing more and more of lately but what exactly is it?

    Mindfulness is defined as '...the psychological process of bringing one's attention to internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment, which can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training......large population-based research studies have indicated that the practice of mindfulness is strongly correlated with greater well-being and perceived health' (Wikipedia) 

    Mindfulness is about focusing on the here and now, the present moment, paying attention to sound, smell, touch, taste or sight.  This can prevent the mind from wondering, helping us to feel less stressed or anxious about what could happen in the future, allowing us to enjoy life. It is used in a number of wellness practices such as Yoga, Meditation and Aromatherapy. 

    For some individuals Yoga may benefit them, for others it could be meditation or a combination of these, find out what works for you. For me Aromatherapy and meditation helps, the benefit of essential oils is amazing for you mind and body. I am a qualified aromatherapist and would be happy to suggest some fantastic blends that could help.

    Put your phones away on your daily commute and look out of the window, take notice of people around you, say thank you when someone lets you past, these little things can make a huge difference.
