• Counterfeit Beauty Products 31 May 2015 | View comments

On the 18 May 2015, the City of London police reported that they have seized thousands of fake products in the last year alone, with one shipping container alone having 4.700 bogus versions of our best selling products. At the best these counterfeit products offer a lower sun protection than stated and at worst some of these fake products were found to contain lead, mercury, cyanide and arsenic!

The Beauty industry has been a target for counterfiet products. The Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit's (PIPCU) 'Wake up - dont fake up' campaign explained that whilst counterfeit creams and powders are anything but the creams and powders you are expecting, the packaging can be almost impossible to tell from the real thing.
